As an Accounts Receivable Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring accurate billing and timely payment for our hospice and home health services. You'll be a key contributor to our mission of Caring, Connecting, and Growing together.
In this role, you will be responsible for validating patient insurance coverage, processing recurring rentals, claims coding, claims billing (including price validation), assisting patients with billing discrepancies, posting payments, and resolving denials using CareTend management software. You will also follow up with payers to obtain necessary information and payments. We process an average of 22,000 claims monthly, including 15,000 electronic and 5,000 paper claims. You will manage an average of 4,000 claims per month, processing credits and corrected billing for patients and insurance providers.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Interact with customers to gather support data, ensuring invoice accuracy and resolving billing discrepancies.
 - Contribute to the development and improvement of billing policies, systems, methods, and procedures.
 - Educate customers on online payment options and invoice access.
 - Monitor outstanding balances and implement strategies to ensure timely patient payment.
 - Manage invoice preparation and reconcile billing with accounts receivable.
 - Perform quality assurance and audits of billing activities.
 - Resolve customer inquiries and escalate complex issues to senior team members.

Qualifications:
- Required: 2 years of recent medical billing experience in an office setting, including charge entry, payment entry, and AR follow-up.
 - Experience with CPT & ICD-10 coding.
 - Proficiency in basic computer skills (MS Office & Excel).
 - Preferred: Medicare and/or Medicaid billing experience, proficiency in 10Key, and experience with DME/HMH, Hospice/Home Health billing.
 
Compensation & Benefits: Nevada residents receive an hourly range of $16.00 to $27.31, based on factors such as education, experience, and certifications. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, incentive programs, equity stock purchase, and 401k contribution (eligibility requirements apply).
