As a Dental Director, you'll be responsible for overseeing clinical management and review activities, improving the quality and efficiency of oral healthcare, and organizing dental professionals to achieve functional objectives. Your expertise will help drive continuous quality improvement, and you'll have the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions that make healthcare more efficient and meaningful.


Your key responsibilities will include:



  • Developing and maintaining relationships with contracted and affiliate dentists to support business efforts

  • Managing grievance and appeals processes, including reviewing dental and medical/dental cases and representing the plan at State-level Fair Hearings

  • Implementing state-specific clinical initiatives and ensuring alignment with business models

  • Driving quality improvement activities and collaborating with the Clinical Affordability team to support innovative approaches to healthcare

  • Developing and cascading clinical outcome messaging to cross-functional teams to foster a tighter working culture

  • Assisting in the identification and development of best practices to support continuous financial and quality improvement


To be successful in this role, you'll need:



  • A Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree

  • A current and unrestricted Kansas Dental License

  • 5+ years of clinical experience, including post-graduate experience in direct patient care

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Current residency in Kansas


Preferred qualifications include 3+ years of managed care experience. As a remote worker, you'll be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter Policy.
