We're seeking a talented UX Designer to join our team at American Express, where you'll play a key role in crafting innovative, user-centered experiences that drive business results. About the Role:

As a UX Designer at American Express, you'll be part of the OnBrand team, our in-house creative agency. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to develop groundbreaking ideas and create seamless, start-to-finish experiences across digital touchpoints. Your primary focus will be on understanding customer needs, tasks, and goals, and translating them into intuitive, user-friendly experiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Transform ideas, business opportunities, research, and creative vision into tangible results
  • Participate in customer discovery sessions, design thinking, and journey/empathy mapping to understand customer pain points
  • Utilize analytical skills and strategic perspective to identify trends and suggest solutions that improve the customer experience
  • Provide customer experience perspective to American Express product partners
  • Collaborate with Product Directors to determine their understanding needs, make recommendations, and craft strategies that align with their product roadmap
  • Help ideate and create innovative solutions that meet business objectives and requirements while helping customers achieve their goals
  • Deliver future-thinking, customer-centered designs
  • Communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including creative, product, business, strategy, and tech teams
  • Ensure quality and consistency of UX deliverables, including site maps, process flows, wireframes, functional specifications, and user research

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a design-related field
  • 3+ years of experience in User Experience, Collaboration Design, or Product Management
  • Strong understanding of the UX workflow and agile, collaborative processes
  • Customer-first mentality with a balance of design needs and business acumen
  • Ability to simplify complex interactions into intuitive customer experiences
  • Knowledge of various qualitative research methods and tools, such as usability testing, remote testing, and how to apply them
  • Experience with designing customer journeys, identifying pain points, and designing solutions to address customer issues
  • Ability to draw on multiple data sources to inform customer-centered recommendations
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage, influence, and inspire partners and stakeholders
  • Strong organizational skills, individual drive, and personal accountability
  • Proficiency in design tools, such as Figma, Sketch/Invision, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office
