In this role, you'll be responsible for architecting, writing, and maintaining highly complex programming stacks, working throughout the application pipeline, including hardware-accelerated video/sound/data processing, media encoding/transcoding, and network transport algorithms. You'll need to be comfortable with delivering high-quality solutions to business problems amidst high uncertainty and be passionate about learning new technologies, advocating for software craftsmanship, and taking full ownership of projects from conception to production.

To succeed in this role, you'll need to be a quick learner, thrive in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction, and have excellent communication skills to collaborate with engineers across functional teams. You should be excited about working on elite performance, real-time applications like games or simulations and have a strong foundation in C or C++ coding.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain complex software stacks for our cloud gaming service
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions
  • Work throughout the application pipeline, including hardware-accelerated video/sound/data processing, media encoding/transcoding, and network transport algorithms
  • Deliver high-quality solutions to business problems amidst high uncertainty
  • Take full ownership of projects from conception to production

Requirements:

  • Experience creating and optimizing high-performance, real-time applications like games or simulations
  • Solid C or C++ coding skills

Nice to Have:

  • Experience writing SDKs
  • Experience with delivering APIs (e.g., Vulkan, DirectX, Metal, OpenGL)
  • Coding skills in multiple languages (e.g., Go, Python, Rust)
  • Experience with game development
  • Experience analyzing and optimizing graphics workloads
  • Experience working with the Unity or Unreal game engines
  • Experience with automating functional and performance testing
