Virtual Assistant for Data Collection and Organization

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented Virtual Assistant (VA) to support our weekly data collection process. The role involves manually gathering obituary data from a list of funeral home websites and entering structured information into a Google Sheet for internal processing. Our company helps small-town businesses deliver personalized condolence books to families who have recently lost a loved one. Your work enables us to identify the appropriate recipients and ensure each book is accurate and thoughtful. This is a mission-critical role where precision and consistency matter.
Responsibilities:
- Visit a set list of obituary or funeral home websites (starting with ~10, expanding over time)
- Review newly posted obituaries on each site weekly
- Manually collect and enter the following information into a structured Google Sheet.Requirements:
- Excellent written English and reading comprehension
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Comfortable working with sensitive data and spreadsheets
- Ability to draw simple inferences from obituary language (e.g., identifying likely next of kin and their location based on context)
- Reliable internet connection and ability to work independently on a consistent weekly schedule
