                                Learning Content Strategy (Contract)
Location: Foster City, CA Hybrid preferred but also open to remote candidates
Duration: 1-year contract with potential for extension
About the Role
• In this position, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and steering the content strategy for new learning initiatives, content re-design and product launches, ensuring that every asset is thoughtfully designed to meet the needs of a global audience while following a repeatable process.
• Your clinical / scientific background paired with an understanding of instructional design and commercial selling will be key in operating at the nexus of various workstreams.
• Your focus will be on providing strategic guidance throughout the content development process—partnering with cross-functional teams to align instructional approaches, drive innovation, and embed best practices that support commercialization goals including recommending AI-forward approaches to content development.
• Your expertise will help create a cohesive framework that enables effective knowledge transfer, adaptability, and scalability across diverse markets.
Key Responsibilities
• Serve as the primary point of contact for inquiries about available learning content across brands and disease states
• Design content strategy for new builds or re-designs of existing content, including creating outlines, design blueprints, etc.
• Provide strategic input and feedback during the content build phase for new product or indication launches
• Support implementation of a cohesive content strategy aligned with launch goals, therapeutic area training, and selling models.
• Facilitate alignment between Marketing, Medical, and Instructional Design teams when content priorities or perspectives diverge
• Collaborate with Product Directors and SMEs to shape selling skills workshops, deep dives, and supporting assets
• Participate in brainstorming sessions and connect content across programs to ensure consistency and strategic alignment
• Project manage new content builds, including tracking deliverables, timelines, and stakeholder input
• Recommend AI-based solutions to streamline content development and content management
Qualifications
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, preferably in commercial, clinical, or learning roles
• Strong clinical literacy and the ability to digest and retain scientific content across multiple therapeutic areas, bachelor of science discipline req, Master, PhD, PharmD a bonus
• Proven experience in project management, with the ability to manage timelines and coordinate across stakeholders
• Instructional design experience, medical writing, or medical illustration a plus, experience with a content center of excellence or agency preferred
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and align cross-functional teams
Preferred Tools & Skills
• Familiarity with product launch cycles and commercialization strategies.
• Experience supporting global teams and adapting content for diverse audiences.
• Knowledge of selling skills frameworks and field force enablement.
• Familiarity with learning platforms and tools such as Articulate Rise, Storyline, Adobe Acrobat, InDesign, PowerPoint, and Smartsheet
• Familiarity with AI tools in the learning space
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, matrixed environment
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $48.00 - $50.00 per hour
