Client Support & Outreach Volunteer (Immediate Start, Unpaid)
About Us:
We are a 501c3 nonprofit serving individuals and families facing housing instability. With sudden provider changes, clients urgently need support to understand their rights, choose new providers, and access immediate help. The demand is heavy, and we are seeking experienced volunteers who can start right away to ensure no client is left without support.
Role Overview:
As a Client Support & Outreach Volunteer, you will manage a high caseload of clients, primarily over the phone. You will explain the situation clearly, guide clients through their options, and connect them to immediate resources. This role requires outstanding communication skills, resilience under pressure, and strong follow-up to make sure every client is supported.
Key Responsibilities:
• Handle a large volume of calls with professionalism and empathy
• Inform clients of their rights and available provider options
• Provide clear, supportive communication to vulnerable individuals
• Connect clients to immediate assistance through our volunteer team
• Consistently follow up until each client has transitioned successfully
• Maintain accurate, organized records of all client interactions
Must Haves:
• Fluent, clear English with a professional, warm phone presence
• Proven experience in client support, call center, outreach, or case management
• Ability to stay calm and compassionate in high-stress conversations
• Strong organizational skills to juggle a heavy workload
• Persistence in follow-up and commitment to seeing cases through
• Ability to start immediately
Important Note:
This is currently a volunteer position. The workload is significant, and we need reliable, skilled people who can step in right away. We are actively pursuing grant funding and hope to expand into paid opportunities in the near future.
