Program Director of Yoga Education

The Program Director of Yoga Education is both an instructional and administrative role, providing strategic leadership and academic oversight for all yoga education programs offered by the University. This includes degree, certificate, and continuing education offerings. The Program Director is responsible for curriculum development, faculty management, and ensuring the program meets academic, accreditation, and industry standards. This role requires a deep commitment to yoga philosophy, integrative health, and higher education excellence.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Deliver assigned instructional duties in accordance with faculty expectations and university policies.
• Lead development and implementation of the yoga program’s strategic and operational goals.
• Select and chair the Program Assessment Committee; convene the committee at least once per semester.
• Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate regular and adjunct faculty.
• Submit timely academic reports and documentation required by the university or external agencies.
• Stay current in yoga education, health science research, and best practices in instruction.
• Represent the yoga program at relevant professional events, conferences, and community engagement opportunities to promote visibility and growth.
• Collaborate with the university’s marketing team to develop and implement recruitment and outreach strategies for program expansion.
• Contribute to the creation of marketing materials, social media content, and public-facing communications.
• Develop and produce instructional videos, virtual modules, and other digital content to support online and hybrid delivery of program offerings.
• Teach within the program as assigned, including foundational and advanced courses in yoga education and practice.
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Dean or University leadership.
• Participate in annual faculty development initiatives.
• Collaborate across university departments to optimize scheduling, faculty sharing, and resource allocation.
• Coordinate program course scheduling and faculty assignments each term.
• Advise students and support retention and completion strategies aligned with the university’s strategic plan.
• Ensure consistent implementation of course syllabi and assessment measures.
• Lead curriculum development, including review, evaluation, and revision in collaboration with faculty and academic leadership.
• Communicate curriculum updates and programmatic changes to stakeholders.
• Develop and monitor the annual program budget; track monthly financial performance.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
EDUCATION/EXPERTISE:
• Minimum of a master’s degree in yoga studies, integrative health, health sciences, or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution (doctoral degree preferred).
• Recognized advanced yoga teaching credential (e.g., ERYT-500, C-IAYT).
• Minimum of five years of teaching experience in yoga or related fields in higher education or clinical/healthcare settings.
• Demonstrated experience in curriculum design, faculty oversight, and program administration.
• Strong background in the integration of yoga and health sciences, including research, wellness, or therapeutic applications of yoga.
• Familiarity with accreditation standards, online learning platforms, and instructional technologies preferred.

• Demonstrates exceptional communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Reads, understands, and applies state and national regulations related to health and wellness education.
• Proficiency in managing administrative systems, course scheduling, assessment, and reporting.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Ability to demonstrate yoga postures and practices as appropriate to curriculum.
• Ability to sit, stand, or engage in movement for extended periods and lift 20 pounds as needed.
