NOC Network Engineer I – Night and Evening Shift Department: Broadband - NOC+ Employment Type: Full Time Location: Remote Reporting To: Tom Lewis Description JSI invites you to join our team as a NOC Network Engineer I – Night and Evening Shift on our NOC team working remotely, where you'll play a critical role in advancing broadband and telecommunications initiatives that expand connectivity and drive digital inclusion—while advancing your career within a mission-driven, growth-focused organization. Position Overview: As a NOC Network Engineer, you will assist JSI’s clients with the monitoring of networks. Responsibilities • Proactively monitor and maintain customer network infrastructure. • Create and manage tickets for network issues. • Troubleshoot network and server problems. • Document network configurations, processes, and troubleshooting steps. • Perform routine maintenance and software upgrades on customer equipment. • Escalate complex issues to appropriate resources. • Communicate technical concepts clearly and concisely. • Develop knowledge base solutions for common issues. • Work flexible shifts and participate in an on-call rotation. • Efficiently handle incoming/outgoing calls in a professional and knowledgeable manner. Qualifications Required Qualifications: • A bachelor’s degree in computer/management information systems, engineering, computer science, or equivalent is required. • Experience may be considered in lieu of a degree, requiring a high school diploma or GED. • Experience with Layer 2 Ethernet switching, DHCP, DNS, and Linux command line. • Knowledge of Ethernet switching, IP routing, VoIP, and general networking principles. • 1-3 years of experience in operating, troubleshooting, or designing Internet Service Provider Networks. Preferred Qualifications: • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. • Preferred candidates will have worked in an NOC environment in a previous role. • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
