Job description: The Alaka’ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) has a need for an Instructional Designer to support our government customer located in Atlanta, GA. This position is remote.
DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support TWDB’s design and development of laboratory training that are complex (e.g., virtual reality, advanced eLearning) and/or urgent (e.g., emergency response webinar) through the following activities;
• Rapidly (1-3 days depending on response needs) draft learning objectives that align with instructional design principles and continuing education accreditation requirements.
• Rapidly (3-10 days depending on training format) draft education and training materials (outlines, storyboards, slides, knowledge checks, test questions, etc.) that align with learning objectives, include all text content and placeholders for images/multimedia/interactions and adhere to DLS/TWDB standards and templates.
• Manage logistics for live training events (e.g., response-related webinars that must be designed and delivered within 1-2 weeks).
• Rapidly (3-5 days) program Section 508-compliant, SCORM-conformant eLearning courses in Lectora or similar software selected by TWDB Leadership.
• Ensure that programmed eLearning courses function properly on the ReviewLink platform and on LMS.
• Facilitate rapid reviews by DLS SMEs and the TWDB project team and immediately incorporate reviewers’ feedback.
• Create a final version of each education and training resource that meets CDC and DLS standards for branding, Section 508 compliance, and clear communication.
• Upload finalized, cleared training courses and supporting materials to CDC-approved LMS.
REQUIRED EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree and 3 to 5 years of experience. Or Instructional Design certificate and 6 or more years of experience.
CITIZENSHIP AND CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be able to obtain a favorable National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
