About the position Responsibilities • Review manual re-billing audits for accuracy and submit to supervisor for approval before posting. • Contact payers, patients, or locations as appropriate to resolve billing issues. • Document all work done in iWorkQ and patient notes in eIntake. • Ensure good communication with locations and payers regarding billing matters. • Process all adjustments within iWorkQ and manage doctor and insurance changes in eIntake. • Report payer trends preventing payment to the BCC Supervisor. • Resolve emails from BCC Supervisor/BCM within 48 hours. • Review patient information in IMBS and eIntake to determine reasons for unpaid claims. • Evaluate patient information in IMBS to assess validity of adjustments. • Complete special projects as assigned by the BCD with specific instructions. • Collaborate with BCC Supervisor and Team Lead on resolving payer and patient issues. • Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements • High school diploma or GED equivalent. • One to three years of related prior work experience in a team-oriented environment. • Experience in the medical field and administrative record management is preferred. • Strong customer service background. • Ability to accurately perform simple mathematical calculations. • Effective communication skills in English, both oral and written. • General knowledge of federal payer program regulations and guidelines. • Ability to interpret various forms of communication (verbal, non-verbal, written, listening, and visual). • Knowledge of medical billing practices and billing reimbursement is preferred. • Maintain confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive information. • Familiarity with medical terminology is preferred. • Ability to multi-task with attention to detail. • Self-motivated with strong organizational and time-management skills. • Deductive problem-solving skills and a sense of urgency in responding to inquiries. Nice-to-haves • Knowledge of medical billing practices and reimbursement processes. • Familiarity with medical terminology.
