Customer Accounts and Billing Manager (Manager 2)
                                About the position
Responsibilities
• Supervise, coach, monitor and assign work for 14 technical staff, including Accountants and Technicians.
• Design and implement comprehensive training programs to elevate staff competencies and ensure adherence to billing procedures.
• Proactively identify and drive process enhancements to boost efficiency and accuracy across billing operations.
• Manage an annual revenue of over $56 million, overseeing diverse billing adjustments and processes.
• Administer the Utility Discount Program, ensuring accurate and timely processing of billing credits for approximately 17,000 customers.
• Collaborate closely with SPU partners and city auditors to validate and enhance billing accuracy and efficiency.
• Cultivate strong relationships with team members, stakeholders, and external partners to foster a collaborative work environment.
• Support and mentor team members to build a high-performing team and enhance morale.
• Assist in projects aimed at improving billing accuracy and implementing new technologies.
Requirements
• Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience related to utility or customer service program management.
• At least two (2) years of supervisory/lead experience.
• A Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration or related field, or two (2) additional years of qualifying experience.
• Proven experience in billing management and process improvement.
• Strong understanding of utility billing practices and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
• Proficiency in relevant software and tools.
