About the position Responsibilities • Data transformations to support actuarial and predictive modeling within the Medicare, Medicaid, and/or Commercial lines of business • Designing and developing data science solutions tailored to client needs • Supporting the development of advanced machine learning classification and regression algorithms • Developing and implementing model monitoring processes to ensure the accuracy and reliability of predictive models • Performing complex analyses and drawing key insights that reflect an understanding of the overall consulting engagement • Creating visually appealing, client-ready, and accurate deliverables • Designing data science solutions and tools as well as performing assessments on existing data science models • Collaborating and communicating effectively with the broader team, while supporting ad-hoc analytics and additional consulting engagements as needed • Maintaining high quality documentation of predictive models, data definitions, transformations, and processes to ensure data science governance and security • Taking accountability for work within a fast-paced consulting environment Requirements • Bachelor's degree • 2+ years of direct healthcare industry experience in at least two of the following domains: Population health analytics, Value based care analytics, Actuarial analysis • 2+ years in Python and SQL • Experience with feature engineering • Experience with development of predictive models • 1+ year experience with Cloud environment like Azure • 1+ year experience working in a consultancy, healthcare payer, or research institution in a data science role • Expertise in various business deployments with at least 2 of the following methodologies: Regression, Classification, NLP Nice-to-haves • Experience at Optum/UHC/UHG • Experience with GenAI • Experience with health care claims and/or pharmacy claims and/or experience with UHG and/or Optum data and analytical products • Proven analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills • Proven ability to handle changing priorities/requirements/deadlines Benefits • Comprehensive benefits package • Incentive and recognition programs • Equity stock purchase • 401k contribution Apply tot his job Apply To this Job
