                                About the position
Responsibilities
• Transcribes medical dictation to provide a permanent record of patient care.
• Transcribes reports, letters, memos, and other documents as required.
• Performs audio or visual transcriptions as needed.
• Edits reports and acquires proper signatures.
• Demonstrates an understanding of medico-legal implications and responsibilities related to the transcription of patient records.
• Operates designated word processing, dictation, and transcription equipment as directed to complete assignments.
• Calls medical reports and distributes/mails reports.
• Maintains files, records, and statistics.
• Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops.
• Attends meetings and serves on committees as required.
• Demonstrates ability to meet or exceed departmental quality and productivity.
• Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Requirements
• Medical Transcribing experience preferred.
• Ability to transcribe 90 -120 WPM.
• Thorough knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to perform difficult editing.
Nice-to-haves
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
