About the position Responsibilities • Manage projects within the Military and Department of Defense (DoD). • Interface at multiple levels to drive project and program requirements. • Create agendas for internal and external meetings and lead status meetings. • Capture and distribute meeting minutes and assign action items to stakeholders. • Facilitate technical discussions as needed and manage project plans. • Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and implement action plans as necessary. • Support high visibility strategic project and service implementation. • Interface directly with Federal customers and management. • Forge cross-functional partnerships to accomplish project goals. • Craft detailed project plans and present business updates. • Provide ongoing status and action reporting. • Identify global resource requirements and coordinate with the right personnel. • Plan, anticipate issues, and adjust to meet project objectives. • Develop, review, and continuously improve processes. • Drive the project and keep team members on track. • Help drive service excellence for the customer. Requirements • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of direct work experience. • Working knowledge of local telecommunications networks. • Managed complex projects involving multiple work streams and stakeholders. • Demonstrated vendor management experience. • Strong demonstrated communication skills. • Experience dealing with key customers at both frontline and management levels. • Working ability with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). • Motivated and influenced teams to deliver outcomes and results. • Ability to obtain a government Public Trust clearance. Nice-to-haves • A degree in Project Management. • Three or more years of Project/Program Management experience within the Telecom industry. • Three or more years of experience creating, monitoring, and implementing business processes. • Two or more years of experience managing large projects. • One or more years of experience in direct customer and vendor management. • CAPM or PMP Certification: current or willingness to obtain within 6 months of start date. • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) v3 certification. • Knowledge of Verizon's Ordering Systems and Architecture, specifically for Federal Government accounts. • Experience with Verizon's transport and its relation to products and services offered to customers.
