The

Representative Director & Chief Executive Officer will lead the Company’s business in the financial services field, oversee all the Company’s operations & day-to-day activities and will establish a strategy to develop business in compliance with the Japanese laws and regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Liaising with the group executive management and the local authorities for the purpose of the firm’s license application(s).
  • Designing, reviewing and revising the Company’s business strategy and objectives.
  • Acting as the Company’s liaison to local and national authorities.
  • Overseeing and controlling the day-to-day Company’s operations, managing the daily business activities.
  • Conducting business monitoring, general finance and budget planning, business reporting as required.
  • Promoting, demonstrating and embedding a strong compliance culture.
  • Establishing and maintaining business relationships with partners and vendors.
  • Acting as key person for the oversight of all outsourcing relationships, including implementation of effective and sustainable controls.
  • Overseeing systems and controls to identify and mitigate potential areas of business vulnerability and risks/gaps and develop/implement pragmatic corrective action plans.
  • Preparing reports for the Board and/or shareholder, auditors and external state bodies as appropriate.
  • Keeping up to date with all relevant regulatory changes as well as evolving best practices, carrying out gap and business impact analysis.
  • Managing the Company’s office and a team of professionals in Japan.
  • Requirements:

  • Must have sufficient knowledge with not less than 3 years of experience in the Financial Instruments Business industry, namely with a Type I Financial Instruments Business Operator and/or Commodity Derivative Business Operators.
  • Must have experience in Japanese retail brokerage markets and understand the business management related provisions of the Financial Instruments and Exchange Act and other relevant regulations.
  • Ideally has experience with new license applications and developing and implementing business operations.
  • Must be fluent in Japanese and must have a professional command of spoken and written English.
  • Must reside in Japan.
  • Must not have ever received any specified administrative penalty, punishment or other sanction.
  • Must have sufficient knowledge and experience for management.
  • Must have sufficient knowledge of compliance and risk control.
  • Must have strong leadership skills.
  • Must be comfortable in a fast-paced environment, where non-routine and/or complex issues are common.
  • Must be able to handle complex issues, projects, and processes.
  • Must demonstrate strong moral and ethical principles, must be willing to learn, accept accountability, demonstrate initiative and support effective co-operation.
  • Must have a strong sense of financial integrity, responsibility and must be able to carry on the regulated activity competently, honestly and fairly.
