Medical Assistant/Receptionist
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient service while managing administrative tasks within a unique practice dedicated to health care delivery for seniors. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
Duties
• Interact with geriatric patients and their family members in a friendly and professional manner.
• Manage patient intake processes, including collecting personal information, verifying insurance details, and scheduling appointments.
• Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) by entering patient data and updating medical histories..
• Coordinate communication between patients and healthcare providers regarding treatment plans and follow-up care.
• Handle medical coding using ICD codes for billing purposes and ensure proper documentation of services rendered.
• Ensure compliance with all health regulations and standards while maintaining patient confidentiality.
• Assist in the management of clinic operations, including appointment scheduling for outpatient services and inpatient admissions.
Qualifications
• Previous experience in a medical administrative support role or medical assistant role is preferred; experience in medical clinics or senior care communities is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and ICD coding is essential.
• Familiarity with EHR systems to manage patient records efficiently.
• Experience in geriatrics
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to provide outstanding patient service and collaborate with healthcare teams.
