Job Overview
We are looking for an engaged Data Scientist who can lead key cross-functional projects for both energy and car business using data science tools and techniques to drive business process automations and support sales and service processes by utilizing our data. As a Data Scientist, you will contribute to all phases of data science projects, from interpreting complex business problems into data science problems to performing data analysis and modeling, and providing solutions to the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to all phases of data science projects: from interpreting complex business problems into data science problems to performing data analysis and modeling, and providing solutions to the business.
- Create and maintain complex data pipelines, supporting our team's mission in democratizing data and empowering a data-driven organization, collaborating with Data Analysts, Data Engineers, AI (ML) Specialists, and Product Managers.
- Effectively communicate significant insights to all levels of the organization with varying levels of data science understanding and backgrounds.
- Collaborate closely with leadership, engineering, and other stakeholders to deliver significant business insights.
- Apply various ML, advanced analytics, and visualization techniques to different datasets across the organization.
Requirements and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Business Analytics, Operations Research, Statistics, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Economics, or Engineering).
- 2+ years of equivalent experience in a quantitative field.
- Results-oriented mindset with strong business acumen and in-depth data science skills.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels in the organization.
- Proven track record of extracting data insights and building ML models, particularly in business analytics (or related) area.
- Expertise in SQL and Python, particularly in standard data science libraries and frameworks like pandas, numpy, scikit-learn, Tensorflow/PyTorch, PySpark, etc.
- Proficiency in at least one visualization tool, such as Tableau, Streamlit, etc.
- Expertise in data wrangling and analyzing large and complex datasets, structured or unstructured.
- Ability to self-start and work independently in an unstructured environment as well as navigate (and bring structure to) ambiguity, carrying a problem from 0 to 1.
- Excellent problem-framing, problem-solving, and project management skills as well as ability to quickly pivot.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Master's or Ph.D.).
- Experience working with large datasets and distributed computing environments.
- Knowledge of cloud-based data platforms and tools (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Strong understanding of data visualization principles and practices.
