Job Summary and Key Responsibilities

As a Pharmacist Centralized Services at Walgreens, you will be responsible for:

  • Executing patient intervention pharmacy programs and ensuring compliance with clinical pharmacy services
  • Driving patient health outcomes by implementing pharmacy programs to optimize reimbursements while improving patient health outcomes
  • Cultivating strong relationships with clinical networks in assigned areas and serving as a liaison and contact for the organization
  • Providing informed expertise and resources to other pharmacists and field leaders
  • Maintaining current knowledge of the pharmacy industry and required licensure

Key Responsibilities

  • Patient Care Programs: Implements direct patient care programs, including but not limited to Drug Therapy Management programs, Vaccination Services, and Payer and Pharma Adherence and Clinical Programs
  • Quality Improvement: Drives compliance and continuous quality improvement in the delivery of clinical pharmacy patient care and services by analyzing, assessing, and redesigning processes; monitoring and evaluating results; and implementing changes
  • Pharmacy Financial Performance: Drives local pharmacy financial performance by aligning business strategies with organizational financial goals and implementing patient intervention pharmacy programs to optimize financial performance
  • Patient Experience: Supports efforts to improve patient experience by increasing focus on healthcare services, such as patient consultations, prescription management, medication therapy reviews, and retail, clinical, or health services
  • Clinical Expertise: Provides expertise, resources, education, and support to pharmacists and field leadership; supports staff training experiences and development opportunities; and fosters a shared vision and supports organizational policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity

Requirements and Qualifications

Essential Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree
  • Licensure: Current pharmacist licensure as granted by the applicable state licensing authority
  • Experience: Experience in pharmacy services, preferably in a clinical or patient care setting
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team; strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Additional Licensure: Willingness to obtain additional state pharmacy licenses if necessary
  • Insurance Knowledge: Knowledge of insurance plans and pharmacy benefits
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; experience with pharmacy management software
