We're now seeking a highly skilled Data Lead to join our Studio Data Management team within Content and Business Products (CBP), and we're offering a competitive hourly rate of $24 for the right candidate.

About the Role

As a Data Lead, you'll play a crucial role in shaping the management of studio data to meet the evolving needs of our business. You'll be part of a dynamic team that oversees data quality for several large operational datasets used across various applications. Your primary focus will be on deal data related to the agreements Netflix makes with talent and companies for the content we put on our service. You'll work closely with product teams to ensure that the data is delivering value to their products while improving underlying data quality through better processes, analysis, rules, and client education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide short-term and long-term thinking for deal data needs across the studio, including data quality and data stewardship. Create quarterly goals to meet short and long-term business objectives and lead the execution of guiding principles.
  • Act as the primary data subject matter expert across the studio, consulting with product management, analysts, engineers, and partners on business-related to deal data.
  • Work with product management, product DSE, and other partners to define, create, analyze, and report metrics that provide visibility into various aspects of data quality.
  • Independently define and implement strategies to efficiently scale data quality work.
  • Lead data quality initiatives to support product development and improve core data quality, creating detailed plans that identify business impact, timelines, and risks, and executing on work.
  • Manage partner requests and drive partner alignment when needed.
  • Serve as a resource for answering clients' data-related support requests.
  • Collaborate with business teams to create and implement more efficient processes, best data practices, and educational documentation.

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • 2+ years of experience working in data management with databases and/or content management systems.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to synthesize information across a wide ecosystem to diagnose problems and devise solutions.
  • A solid understanding of workflow and the ability to recognize weaknesses.
  • A general understanding of the pitch-to-play lifecycle of content.
  • Knowledge of data lifecycle and data management concepts.
  • Excellent time management and project management skills, with the ability to manage timelines for multiple projects.
  • Strong ability to communicate with empathy and clarity to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Adaptability in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Proficiency with Google Suite and table-based applications (e.g., Excel, Airtable).

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following skills and experiences will make you a more competitive candidate:

  • Experience with SQL.
  • Experience working with product, engineering, and client service teams.
  • Experience in legal operations or studio operations.
  • Experience working at a studio, distributor, film sales, production company, agency, management firm, or other entertainment entity.
