About the Role of an Online Coach
As an Online Coach, you will be responsible for teaching and modeling professional job skills, supporting life skills development, and enhancing communication and social aptitude, all through our accessible video conferencing platform. This is a 1099 gig-based role, offering the flexibility to set your own hours and accept clients as you see fit. Please note that this role is not intended to be a full-time position, and our clients typically require coaching between 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM (Eastern Standard Time) for 1-3 hours per week, for up to 6-12 months.
Ideal Candidate Profiles
We are looking for individuals who fit one of the following profiles:
- You are seeking a 'side-hustle' or gig work, and are already employed in a role within disability, special education, coaching, human services, or a similar field.
- You are retired after a career in human services, and are looking for a role that allows you to set your own hours and earn extra income.
- You have a couple of hours available each day to work remotely, but are not looking for more hours beyond that.
Key Responsibilities
As an Online Coach, your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing guidance and support to adults with disabilities, focusing on job, life, and social skills development.
- Collaborating with clients to develop learning plans and helping them achieve their goals.
- Utilizing Daivergent tools and resources to support clients in achieving their goals.
- Demonstrating knowledge of a wide range of careers and job-seeking strategies to better assist clients.
- Using video conferencing tools such as Zoom and MS Teams for client interactions and remote job-related activities.
Candidate Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- One of the following educational requirements: BA in Psychology, Human Services, Special Education, Teaching, Disability, or any other related field, OR a high school diploma (or equivalent) with 5+ years of work experience helping adults with disabilities.
- A minimum of 2 years of either recruitment or project management experience with a focus on research and job lead identification, providing direct services to an individual with a disability, or teaching, coaching, or tutoring experience.
- Availability between 5 PM ET to 1 AM ET (Mondays to Fridays), or 11 AM to 11 PM ET (Saturdays or Sundays), with a priority on coaches who can support clients on weekends.
- Be at least 21 years old and legally authorized to work in the US, with a physical location in the US.

Successful candidates should also possess:
- An ability to improvise and "think on your feet," adjusting instruction accordingly depending on the responsiveness of students.
- Patience and understanding when supporting students who may require more time to comprehend.
- Creativity, due to the dynamic nature of our curriculum.
- A positive and outgoing personality, with strong energy and a non-judgmental approach.
- A readiness to embrace a "startup mindset" and demonstrate some tech-savviness (we will provide support to help you develop this skill).
