About the Role: Member Services Representative

The Member Services Representative position is a key role within the Payments and Digital Strategy team at American Airlines Credit Union. This role is responsible for a wide range of functions, including check processing, item processing, direct payments, and funds transfers. If you have a keen eye for detail, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, this could be the ideal opportunity for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete data entry and balancing functions to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Coordinate return items with members, vendors, the Federal Reserve Bank, and other institutions.
  • Assist other departments with fraud resolution, member inquiries, and related Accounting standard ledger balancing.
  • Work on member cases/issues assigned, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Follow and maintain guidelines and procedures to ensure strict compliance with NACHA regulations and guidelines and Federal Banking laws.
  • Process loan payments, multi-account and member deposits, credit card payments, and other checks, including IRA, bankruptcy, and payoff checks.
  • Review, research, and approve Remote Deposit, Mobile, ATM, and other imaged-enabled products.
  • Log, research, and make necessary GL, account changes, and/or returns.
  • Process Stop Pays and Check Batching, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
  • Complete daily balancing and department closing, maintaining high levels of accuracy.
  • Obtain information from members for the timely and accurate processing of international and domestic funds transfer requests.
  • Research and verify incoming and outgoing funds transfer information, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Communicate with vendors to process funds transfers efficiently.
  • Understand and be familiar with outgoing and incoming funds transfer laws and regulations.
  • Deposit check returns, research member returned checks on draft changes, process member checks, confirm members for outgoing funds transfers, and Federal Reserve verifying and releasing funds transfers.
  • Complete daily processing of workflows related to late returns, delivery of receipts, foreign collections, and legal fees.

Requirements for Success:

To excel in this role, you will need to meet the following minimum qualifications:

  • High school degree or GED.
  • Intermediate Excel and Word experience, demonstrating your ability to work with Microsoft Office software.

While not mandatory, the following preferred qualifications will be considered advantageous:

  • Previous customer/member service experience, showcasing your ability to provide excellent service.
  • Previous banking or Credit Union experience, highlighting your understanding of financial services.
  • Episys/Symitar and processing wires experience, demonstrating your technical skills.
