As a Student Researcher, you will be an integral part of Google's research team, working on projects that drive innovation and solve real-world problems. This is a full-time, 8-hour workday position, available for immediate start.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in research to develop solutions for real-world, large-scale problems, applying your knowledge and skills to drive innovation.
  • Collaborate with Google researchers and engineers on projects that leverage the latest advancements in software engineering, machine learning, and data science.
  • Contribute to the development of intelligent systems that power Google's products and services.
  • Work on projects that are exploratory in nature, with a focus on discovering new ideas and approaches.

Essential Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a PhD program in a relevant field such as Software Engineering, Semantics, Measurements, Biostatistics, Applied Math, Operations Research, Economics, or Physical Sciences.
  • Experience in at least one area of software engineering, such as Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Algorithmic Foundations of Optimization, Quantum Data Science, Data Science, or Programming.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently attending a US-based program, either on-campus or online.
  • Planned return to the PhD program after completing the research position.
  • Experience as a researcher, including internships, full-time positions, or lab experience.
  • Published research papers in conferences or journals.
  • Proficiency in at least one general-purpose programming language, such as C/C++, Java, MATLAB, Go, or Python.
