Technical Engineer – Full Stack/Cloud (Remote) – Just After Midnight – Austin, TX
Job title: Technical Engineer - Full Stack/Cloud (Remote)
Company: Just After Midnight
Job description: At its core, Just After Midnight is a support business providing the very best support to our customers and helping to maintain their online brands and credibility. Our Engineers are at the forefront of our boutique service. We want the very best problem solvers, solution architects, software developers and DevOps engineers who can help ensure the inevitable outages and performance issues encountered in today's cloud first world, are mitigated and remediated in the quickest time possible.
We are not a typical IT service desk. Our customer stakeholders span marketing, technology, ecommerce, customer experience and engineering. Our approach is not to discount our responsibility for an issue but rather do anything we can to restore service - whether the issue is at an infrastructure, application or third party service level.
This role is a highly technical role and requires someone who is hands-on and has been supporting modern web applications currently. You must be well versed in the cloud, both AWS and Azure and have come from a programming/developer background. Prerequesits
• You have both Azure and AWS experience and are able to provision, configure and maintain workloads in the cloud.
• You MUST have .NET and Linux experience
• You will have certifications on either Azure or AWS, or better both!
• You work well under pressure and are able to provide critical incident support to clients with well documented app and infra issues.
• You understand key principles of DevOps and best practice on how to build and architect modern web applications.
The role is broad, varied and full-stack in a real sense. From design and build of cloud solutions on AWS and Azure, generating Infrastructure-as-Code, designing monitoring strategy, testing automation and getting to the root of problems will be your day-to-day (don't worry, no bug fixing!). You will provide guidance and recommendations on how to address and resolve issues. Key responsibilities include:
• Designing, architecting and implementing DevOps tools, pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code
• Providing technical L2 support
• Designing and implementing monitoring solutions
• Creating and owning runbooks for your designated clients
• Problem solving and resolution to incidents caused by application or infrastructure issues for clients
• Working as part of a solution team to design cloud hosting solutions for web apps
• Involvement in helping improve and automate our internal processes
About you
You will most likely be working at an agency or for a client directly and want to work on a larger variety of clients in a growing, fast-paced environment. You might be from a software development background but just as easily could be from a cloud engineering space.
