Job Summary

We're seeking a passionate and dedicated Math Tutor to join our team at Mathnasium of Laurelwood in San Mateo, CA. As a Math Tutor, you'll play a critical role in creating an engaging and productive learning experience for our students. You'll work closely with students, parents, and our team to deliver exceptional educational services and help our students achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional instruction and tutoring services to students using the Mathnasium Method^TM
• Participate in positive interactions with parents and establish a high level of confidence and program value
• Become proficient with digital educational materials and processes
• Teach in-center, online, and/or via hybrid delivery using the Mathnasium Method^TM, terminology, and teaching practices
• Assess students' progress throughout instructional sessions and work collaboratively with team members to deliver the best possible experience for students
• Evaluate, grade, and correct student work and homework
• Support the maintenance of a clean and professional learning environment
• Assist with non-teaching/instructional tasks as needed

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

• A passion for math and working with students
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Exceptional math competency through at least Algebra I
• The ability to balance various ongoing tasks
• A willingness to learn and be trained in the Mathnasium Method^TM

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

• Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Familiarity with digital educational materials and processes
