Job Description
As a Splunk Developer at SAIC, you'll play a critical role in supporting the Air Force Weather Program Office's (AFLCMC/HBAW) effort to migrate data, software, and operations to the Air Force Weather (AFW) Virtual Private Cloud (VPC). You'll work closely with a government-led team of contractors and government personnel to plan for the migration of weather and environmental data storage and application functionality into the AFW VPC and Agile DevSecOps environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist AFLCMC Program Office with data tracking and creating Splunk dashboards to visualize key performance indicators and trends
 - Write and troubleshoot scripts using tools such as Python to automate data processing and analysis
 - Train users on the use of Splunk and provide technical assistance to ensure successful adoption
 - Work with existing teams to ingest and parse data from various sources into Splunk
 - Develop custom Splunk applications or add-ons to extend functionality and meet program requirements
 - Build dashboards highlighting key data trends and provide insights to stakeholders
 - Perform troubleshooting and provide assistance with the creation of Splunk search queries and dashboards
 - Analyze data for anomalies and trends, and make recommendations on system additions or enhancements
 - Provide staff reports for contractual reporting and other program requirements
 
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., computer science, information technology)
 - Five years of experience in a related field, or relevant years of experience in lieu of degree
 - Must be a US citizen and possess an active Secret security clearance
 - Ability to work with minimal direction in an open and fast-paced environment; proactive and flexible
 - Proficient with recognizing and onboarding new data sources into Splunk
 - Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Python programming languages
 - Experience maintaining and administering Splunk implementations
 - Experience with managing work tasks via tools such as JIRA and ServiceNow
 - Experience with AWS Cloud and DoD organizations
 - Experience working in an Agile/DevOps environment
 - Demonstrated ability to present briefings to senior officials in both prepared briefings and/or in ad hoc discussions
 - High-level collaboration and technical communication skills, including ability to use Microsoft Office products (MS TEAMS, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Excel)
 
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Splunk development and administration
 - Familiarity with Air Force or DoD systems and operations
 - Experience with cloud-based technologies and migration
 - Knowledge of data analytics and visualization tools
