About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and experienced General Education Adjunct Instructor to teach English 101/102 Professional Writing. As an adjunct instructor, you will provide a learning experience in the classroom, online, and/or in the lab using a variety of teaching methods. You will be responsible for creating a positive educational climate, establishing clear objectives, and evaluating student achievements. This is a fully remote role, offering you the flexibility to work from anywhere and contribute to the success of our students.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a learning experience in the classroom, online, and/or in the lab using a variety of teaching methods, such as lectures, demonstrations, and audiovisual aids
 - Evaluate student achievements and provide ongoing student advisement and academic counseling
 - Keep students engaged in a classroom environment while following an established curriculum/syllabus
 - Meet course and school-wide student performance goals and manage student behavior in the classroom/online
 - Observe and evaluate student performance, identifying and referring students who are "at risk" of not being successful to the Student Success Coordinator
 - Grade tests and projects, maintain grade books, track attendance, and perform other administrative duties as needed
 - Participate in ongoing conferences, seminars, and training sessions to enhance teaching skills and knowledge
 - Provide input and participate in academic committees formed for the purpose of enrichment of both the programs and students
 
Essential Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:
- Masters' degree or higher in a related program of study from an accredited program recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) required
 - A minimum of 15 credit hours or equivalent in the assigned subject area required
 - A minimum of three years of work experience as an educator preferred
 - Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing in English
 
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:
- Experience teaching English 101/102 Professional Writing or a related course
 - Familiarity with online learning platforms and technology-enhanced instruction
 - Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and with varying learning styles
 - Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
