Key Responsibilities

As a UWC Operations Coordinator, you will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating and providing administrative support for the day-to-day operations of the University Writing Center, ensuring that all professional staff and student workers have the necessary resources to deliver instructional services.
  • Assisting with the planning and coordination of UWC events, including workshops, meetings, and other functions.
  • Locating and reserving off-site facilities for events and meetings.
  • Coordinating and informing the Director on all fiscal and personnel matters, including overseeing financial transactions, preparing documents for personnel matters, and assisting in scheduling interviews.
  • Providing guidance and support to tutors, answering questions, and offering training on procedures and technology.
  • Coordinating tutoring assistance and appointments.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Equivalent to four years of administrative support experience.
  • Excellent customer service skills and experience working in a culturally diverse environment.
  • Proficiency in software programs, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
  • Knowledge of human resources policies and procedures, as well as financial management and campus fiscal policies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in a support role at CSULB.

  • Understanding of university policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Compensation and Benefits

This is a full-time, temporary position with a competitive salary range of $3,505 - $5,508 per month, depending on experience and qualifications. We also offer:
