Key Responsibilities: Teaching, Mentoring, and Contributing to Student Success
- Teach at least 36 credits per fiscal year, ensuring student engagement and awareness of course objectives through innovative approaches and evaluation techniques.
- Create a conducive classroom environment that promotes student success, and follow established policies and processes to address student behavior or performance issues.
- Develop and deliver individualized instruction using a range of instructional materials, including multimedia presentations and interactive technologies, with a focus on experiential and project-based learning.
- Empower students to think critically about coursework and its applications, especially to the profession of Nursing, and identify students who are "at risk" to provide support and resources.
- Provide ongoing student advisement and academic counseling, tutoring, and mentoring students on an individual basis when needed.
- Grades tests and projects, maintains grade books, and tracks attendance, reporting all grades and attendance on time.
- Participate in student-centered activities to promote a sense of community between students and faculty, and contribute to the campus culture in a positive and meaningful way.
- Demonstrate leadership by serving as a mentor to junior faculty, adjuncts, and students, and contribute to other administrative areas to support students, department, and institution.
- Consistently demonstrate and encourage students in the development of soft skills, including leadership, ethics, communication, critical thinking, teamwork, and collaboration.
Essential Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Skills
To excel in this role, you'll need:
- A graduate degree from an accredited program recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
- A minimum of 15 or more credit hours earned directly in the assigned subject area.
- A Master's degree is required; a Doctorate degree is preferred.
- At least 3 years of prior teaching/training experience in the content field or closely related field, preferably within higher education or in the healthcare field.
- Experience with online teaching and learning management systems, such as Canvas LMS, is strongly preferred.
- Computer literacy with Microsoft Office 365 (or similar software) and videoconferencing software is required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing in English.
Preferred Qualifications: Enhancing Your Application
