Job Overview

As a Customer Advocate at blithequark, you will play a vital role in processing loan applications, providing exceptional customer service, and acting as a liaison between borrowers, underwriters, and loan advisors. Key Responsibilities

  • Process loan applications in compliance with mortgage lending and applicable investor guidelines
  • Act as the primary customer contact, providing periodic status updates and timely return of all incoming inquiry calls
  • Note all communication and statuses in the Loan Operating System, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records
  • Contact borrowers for outstanding documents, including those listed on the Underwriting Terms and Conditions sheet
  • Validate 1003 loan applications for completion and accuracy, confirming information entered in the Loan Origination System matches
  • Analyze loan applications, assessing creditworthiness and the likelihood of loan repayment, and review title commitments and fees
  • Monitor the loan process, managing expectations with clients and sales staff through closing

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • At least 3 years of loan processing experience, with a strong understanding of mortgage lending and applicable investor guidelines
  • VA and FHA loan experience, ideally with a portfolio split of 30/30/30 between FHA/VA/conventional loans
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to comfortably talk to brokers on the phone (approximately 80% of the job)
  • Experience managing a pipeline of 30-50 loans, with a focus on re-finance loans (ideally 50/50 split or more)

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following qualifications are desirable:

  • Previous experience working in a fully remote environment, with the ability to self-motivate and manage your time effectively
  • A strong understanding of loan origination systems and software, with the ability to quickly learn new systems and technologies
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and outside the box
