We are currently seeking a detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and organized individual to join our West Hempstead Office-based team as a full-time Project Associate. This hybrid role offers a unique blend of remote and in-office work, with a 2/3 on-office mix, providing the flexibility to work from home one day a week.

About the Role

As a Project Associate at blithequark, you will play a critical support role in our Revenue Recovery Department, working closely with a team of registered nurses, coding professionals, and billing experts. Your primary objective will be to ensure that our clients receive the reimbursement they are entitled to by providing accurate and timely data entry and medical record support. Key Responsibilities

  • Medical Record Retrieval: Retrieve patient medical records from various hospital systems, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Patient Itemized Bills Preparation: Generate and prepare patient itemized bills in appropriate formats for internal and external audits.
  • Data Extraction and Entry: Extract and enter necessary information from and to hospital patient accounting systems, maintaining data integrity.
  • Communication with Healthcare Facilities: Make phone calls to post-acute healthcare facilities to obtain necessary patient information.
  • Reporting: Run and create reports as required by the recovery team, utilizing your analytical skills.
  • Information Gathering and Data Entry: Assist with any other information gathering or data entry tasks as needed by the recovery team.
  • Document Management: Scan and index documents accurately, ensuring easy retrieval and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements and Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Health Information Management, Business Administration) preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience in making phone calls to healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment, with a 2/3 on-office mix.
  • Detail-oriented with high accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in healthcare, health information management, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHRs) and hospital patient accounting systems.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology and coding principles.
  • Certification in health information management or a related field (e.g., RHIA, RHIT) is a plus.
