We're a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers working together to provide our customers with continual access to the innovation they rely on.

About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Product Design Engineer to join our Product Engineering team, focused on tooling and analytics. As a Product Design Engineer, you'll play a critical role in designing and developing resilient, cost-effective electrical distribution products and systems for our rapidly expanding data center footprint. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to drive continuous advancements and improvements in our designs, communicate technical direction to senior management, and enhance the reliability, scalability, and cost-effectiveness of our engineering designs.

  • Add and manage product designs in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems, including indented Bills-of-Materials and product documentation/drawings.
  • Collaborate with the Product Design Engineering team to complete updates to product documentation and/or drawings in relevant CAD packages.
  • Review and become familiar with product design and drawings, including mechanical parts, assembly, construction, and electrical drawings.
  • Define project scope and provide technical support for information requests prior to and during manufacturing phases.
  • Work with design and field engineering, commissioning teams, Contract Manufacturers, and other relevant business partners to properly manage engineering changes.
  • Support manufacturing activities for new products on concurrent projects in multiple geographical locations.
  • Support Operations, including failure mode and root cause analysis, maintenance and troubleshooting support, and operating procedure review, to continuously improve the engineering change management process.
  • Be a leader within the product development team and internal and external teams that support the data center.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Java Script, Python, REACT, Express.js, Data Base management, APIs, and native AWS.
  • Experience in engineering design, manufacturing, and quality control of products such as Switchgear, panel boards, and Power Distribution Units.
  • Knowledge of typical data center designs/architectures, design or operation of data centers or substations, and the latest industry design trends.
  • Familiarity with product validation processes by testing and proven experience for product certification testing by third-party labs.
  • Experience with protection and control schematics and manufacturing wiring drawings.
  • The ability to perform complex business case analysis to justify technical decisions and present the justification to management in a high-level review.
