About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Financial Analyst to join our team on a part-time basis, working remotely. As a Financial Analyst at blithequark, you will be responsible for driving business growth and profitability through data-driven decision making and strategic planning. You will be part of the Global Merchant and Network Services (GM&NS) Pricing team, which is responsible for the single largest source of blithequark's revenue: Merchant Discount Revenue.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create a Canada figure for merchant discount revenue and track monthly performance against forecast, identifying drivers of change.
  • Develop merchant discount revenue scorecards for the Canada region.
  • Drive standardization and process improvement among the different regional pricing teams for all reporting and forecasting related activities.
  • Support external audits, including investigating issues found, contacting the regional pricing teams that manage the merchant relationship to discuss issues, and managing resolutions.
  • Perform ad-hoc data analysis to assess discount rate trends and uncover insights.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 2+ years of experience in financial services or payments industry, and/or other financial roles.
  • A Bachelor's degree required; strongly preferred in Finance/Accounting/Business.
  • High proficiency with Excel is required.
  • Strong attention to detail and organization.
  • Strong analytical skills; demonstrated ability to develop complex financial models and draw value-added insights from a large amount of financial data.
  • Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., SAS/SQL) is required.
  • Excellent communication skills - both written and oral.
