About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Instructional Designer - Learning & Development Specialist to design and develop learning solutions and training programs for our office and field personnel. This role is a fantastic opportunity for a talented instructional designer to join our team and make a significant impact on the development of our employees. As an Instructional Designer - Learning & Development Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting the learning management system, including ongoing maintenance, reporting, and end-user support. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and design courses and curriculum that meet the needs of our office and field personnel
  • Design learning activities, assignments, and assessments that promote engagement and knowledge retention
  • Create computer-based training (CBT) modules and storyboards that are interactive and effective
  • Develop instructor's manuals, rubrics, and other teaching tools that support our training programs
  • Collaborate with subject experts to develop course content that is relevant and accurate
  • Analyze, update, and refine existing online content to ensure it remains current and effective
  • Train instructors and employees in how to use learning technologies and provide ongoing support
  • Keep current on best practices in instructional design and apply this knowledge to improve our training programs
  • Write scripts for video and audio content that are engaging and informative
  • Work with technical staff to troubleshoot problems reported by users and resolve issues promptly
  • Upload, test, and update new learning objects into the LMS catalog from multiple formats
  • Generate standard reports, as requested, and assist with data analysis to inform training decisions
  • Assist with assigning and registering users for training courses and maintain data integrity rules and processes for the LMS
  • Support new approaches and policies to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the company
  • Help create, manage, and enforce LMS system standards, policies, and procedures

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Proficiency in course development software tools such as Articulate 360, Adobe Acrobat, Captivate, Snagit, and Kahoot
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience working with a learning management system (LMS)
  • Excellent record-keeping and high attention to detail
  • Ability to interact and follow up effectively with employees and management at all levels
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • A degree in instructional design, HR development, and/or group facilitation, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following qualifications are preferred:

  • Experience working in a similar industry or sector
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design models
  • Experience with e-learning authoring tools and learning management systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
