Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Sales Associate to join our team in Hamilton, OH. As a Sales Associate, you will be the face of our company, providing exceptional customer service, operating the cash register, stocking merchandise, and performing various tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our store. Key Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service, greeting and assisting customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Operate the cash register and scanner to itemize and total customer purchases, collect payment, make change, and bag merchandise
- Follow company merchandise processes, including unpacking, stocking, restocking, and rotating merchandise on shelves, as well as building merchandise displays
- Clean the store, take out trash, dust and mop store floors, clean the restroom and receiving room, and help set up sidewalk displays
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager to maximize store profitability and customer satisfaction while protecting company assets
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:
- Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills
- Understanding of safety policies and practices
- Ability to read and follow planogram and merchandise presentation guides
- Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures
- Basic mathematical skills
- Ability to perform cash register functions
- Ability to stock merchandise
A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, and previous retail experience is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following skills and qualifications are preferred:
- Previous experience in a retail environment, particularly in a sales or customer service role
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with moderate noise levels
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds frequently and up to 55 pounds occasionally
- Ability to climb a step ladder up to heights of six feet
- Ability to push and/or pull rolltainers for stocking merchandise
