Job Summary

The Senior Manager, Transportation will be responsible for overseeing transportation planning activities, managing daily transportation operations, and ensuring seamless product movement from pickup to delivery. This is a senior leadership role that requires a strong background in transportation management, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead and motivate a team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Overseeing Operations Execution: Manage and streamline transportation planning activities across all transportation modes, ensuring efficient and cost-effective operations.
  • Managing Shipments: Oversee shipments from NAOU/COMAN sites to customers, intra-company shipments, and daily load volumes of 500-1000 shipments.
  • Escalation Management: Handle escalation concerns promptly, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption to operations.
  • Collaboration and Coaching: Collaborate with other supply chain teams and cross-functional teams to execute the business, and coach Strategic Transportation teams on dedicated scorecard and KPI oversight.
  • Productivity Initiatives: Drive financial and operational improvements through productivity initiatives, and partner with Strategic Transportation on development of the annual dedicated budget.
  • Carrier Management: Lead dedicated transportation business through carrier management, process management, and optimization.
  • Budget Management: Manage a $1B budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources and cost savings.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and motivate a team of transportation professionals, providing guidance and coaching to ensure success.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's Degree: A Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics/Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Relevant Experience: At least 5 years of relevant experience in transportation management, with a proven track record of success.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with Oracle Transportation Management systems and SAP, as well as intermediate MS Office Suite skills, including Power BI.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Attention to Detail: High attention to detail, with the ability to thrive under deadlines and work in a team environment while delivering independent results.
  • Analytical Skills: Demonstrated ability to review issues and provide recommendations for resolution.
  • Integrity and Work Ethic: A strong work ethic, with a positive attitude and a commitment to integrity and dedication.
