We are now seeking an experienced Part-Time Head Baseball Coach to lead our team to success.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Part-Time Head Baseball Coach to lead our men's baseball team. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of the program, including evaluating and recruiting student-athletes, organizing and conducting team workouts and competition, arranging a NAIA and PSUAC schedule and team travel, and managing the operating and scholarship budgets. Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct Practice and Competition Coaching: Lead the team in practice and competition, providing guidance and instruction to student-athletes to help them achieve their full potential.
  • Evaluation and Recruitment of Student-Athletes: Identify and recruit academically qualified and skilled student-athletes to join the team, ensuring that they meet the university's academic and athletic standards.
  • Pre and Post-Season Coaching, Conditioning, and Weight Training: Develop and implement training programs to prepare the team for competition, including conditioning and weight training exercises.
  • Academic Monitoring and Personal Development of Student-Athletes: Work closely with student-athletes to ensure their academic success and personal development, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Fundraising Efforts: Assist with fundraising efforts in the Athletic department, helping to secure resources and support for the team.
  • Volunteer Coaches: Select and manage volunteer coaches, ensuring that they are properly trained and equipped to support the team.
  • Scheduling and Team Travel: Arrange weekly practice schedules with pre-determined contract golf facilities and manage team travel, ensuring that the team is properly prepared for competition.
  • Equipment and Budget Management: Maintain equipment and assist with equipment and gear orders to maximize budgets in support of the student-athlete experience.
  • Marketing and Web Page Development: Work with the Director of Athletics to develop and provide accurate information to maintain the golf program marketing and web page.
  • Conference and National Awards: Provide feedback for the Director to nominate and select weekly/season conference and national awards.
  • Service Activities and Character Development: Develop opportunities for the team to participate in service activities and encourage participation in the NAIA Champions of Character program, teaching life lessons about respect, hard work, value of education, and service to others.

Qualifications:

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Part-Time Head Baseball Coach who possesses the following qualifications:

  • Education: A high school diploma is required, with a Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Work Experience: Coaching or playing experience at the high school level is required, with collegiate coaching experience preferred.
  • Licenses/Certifications: A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required, with a successful completion of a motor vehicle records check and standard background checks.
  • Skills: Proficient communication skills, strong leadership skills, and the ability to work effectively with student-athletes, coaches, administrators, and staff are essential.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of NAIA and PSUAC student-athlete and institutional compliance rules and rules governing the play of various games is required.
