Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Customs Brokerage Representative to work on our night shift team, handling data entry, release operations, and customer communication. As a Release Operations Representative, you will be responsible for ensuring that all shipments are cleared for transport and that all legal obligations and documentation requirements are met. Key Responsibilities
- Release, classify, and bill basic import shipments in a timely and accurate manner
- Prepare bonds for U.S. Customs for inspection and release of imports
- Assure accurate and timely billings and resolve accounting issues as they arise
- Stay up-to-date on Customs and procedure changes, ensuring that all shipments are compliant with relevant regulations
- Communicate effectively with customers via email and phone, providing exceptional service and support
- Work collaboratively with other units to ensure seamless operations and resolve any issues that may arise
- Perform data entry tasks with a high level of accuracy, meeting productivity and quality standards
- May be assigned additional tasks and responsibilities as needed
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of Brokerage/office experience required, with a focus on customs brokerage and international trade
- Accurate data entry skills, with the ability to meet productivity and quality standards
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues
- Previous experience with MS Word and EXCEL, Windows, Email, and various PC-based software programs is a plus
