We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Family Enrichment Specialist I to join our team in the COM | Peds HS Partnerships Resources Department. As a Family Enrichment Specialist I, you will play a vital role in supporting the development and well-being of children and families in our community, working closely with Early/Head Start Child Care Partners and families to provide comprehensive support services.

Job Summary

This position combines social issues and regulatory management, requiring a strong and diverse skillset to drive success. The Family Enrichment Specialist I will work with families with difficult circumstances, developing family intervention plans and assisting them in finding resources to meet their needs. You will plan parent involvement activities, recruit and enroll children and families for the Early Head Start Partnership program, and find supplemental community resources for families. Key Responsibilities

  • Work with families of children enrolled in Head Start/Early Head Start, conducting home visits and family assessments to identify needs and develop support plans.
  • Develop and implement family intervention plans, assisting families in finding resources to meet their needs and improve their overall well-being.
  • Plan and coordinate parent involvement activities at respective centers, promoting parent engagement and education.
  • Handle child abuse reports, conducting follow-up interventions and ensuring the safety and well-being of children.
  • Recruit, enroll, and register children and families for the Head Start/Early Head Start Program, maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with program requirements.
  • Collaborate with site staff to maintain a clean and safe environment, ensuring the health and safety of children and families.
  • Assist with classroom supervision, relieving staff for breaks and lunchtime, and maintaining children's records.
  • Work with the management team to assess community needs, develop partnerships with other agencies, and provide support services to children and families.
  • Complete parent surveys and conduct required home visits, monitoring and recording attendance and maintaining accurate records.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education, Early Childhood Development Education, or a related field.
  • At least one year of experience in case management, working with families in an early childhood developmental environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to supporting the development and well-being of children and families.
  • Basic computer skills, with the ability to maintain accurate records and utilize software applications.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:

  • Experience working with Early/Head Start programs or similar early childhood development initiatives.
  • Knowledge of community resources and services, with the ability to connect families with supportive services.
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
  • Experience with data collection and analysis, with the ability to inform program development and improvement.
