**About the Role**
As an Online Instructor - Criminal Justice, you will be responsible for teaching online courses in the field of criminal justice, including law enforcement, courts, corrections, and criminology. You will work closely with students, colleagues, and academic program managers to ensure that students receive a high-quality education and achieve their academic goals. This is a part-time position, and you will be expected to teach online courses during the summer semester, with the possibility of teaching during the fall and spring semesters as well.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Teach online courses in the field of criminal justice, including law enforcement, courts, corrections, and criminology
* Develop and implement engaging online course materials, including syllabi, lesson plans, and assessments
* Provide high-quality instruction and support to students, including responding to emails, phone calls, and online discussions
* Evaluate student learning and provide feedback on assignments and exams
* Stay current with developments in the field of criminal justice and incorporate best practices into your teaching
* Collaborate with colleagues and academic program managers to develop and implement online courses and programs
* Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge
**Essential Qualifications**
* Master's degree in criminal justice or master's degree and 18 graduate semester hours in criminal justice; or master's degree in any field with a minimum of 15 years practical work experience in law enforcement, courts, or corrections; or a Juris Doctorate with 5 years of experience in criminal law
* Previous online teaching experience is preferred
* Strong background in the field of criminal justice, including law enforcement, courts, corrections, and criminology
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Strong organizational and time management skills
* Familiarity with online learning platforms and tools
**Preferred Qualifications**
* Previous experience teaching online courses in the field of criminal justice
* Certification in online teaching
* Experience with curriculum development and program assessment
* Familiarity with educational technology and online learning platforms
