**Job Summary**
As a Live Chat Specialist - Collections, you'll be responsible for responding to borrowers via different digital communication channels with delinquent accounts, collecting past due payments, and providing appropriate payment solutions to cure borrower's delinquency. This role requires a unique blend of communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Communicate with delinquent borrowers via different digital communication channels, including live chat, email, and phone
* Find solutions to help bring borrower's loans to a current status, including negotiating payment plans and providing financial counseling
* Process payments for borrowers with past due payments, ensuring accurate and timely processing
* Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly collection and metric goals, providing regular updates to management
* Collaborate with internal teams, including customer service, sales, and credit, to resolve complex customer issues
* Develop and maintain knowledge of financial products, including loan options and payment plans
* Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in collections and customer service
**Essential Qualifications**
* 1-2 years of direct experience in credit and collections, with a proven track record of success
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner
* Prior experience with financial products, including loans and credit cards
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
* Self-motivated and extremely goal-oriented, with a strong desire to succeed in a fast-paced environment
* Team player with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn and adapt
* Professional demeanor, with a strong sense of integrity and ethics
**Preferred Qualifications**
* Bilingual Spanish/English, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers who speak Spanish
* Experience with live chat software and other digital communication channels
* Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance, including the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA)
* Certification in collections or customer service, such as the Certified Collections Professional (CCP) or the Certified Customer Service Representative (CCSR)
