**Job Summary**
As a Customer Service Specialist II in our Animal Services department, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to the public, responding to complex customer inquiries, and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner. You will work closely with our team to ensure that our customers receive the highest level of service and support.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Provide exceptional customer service to the public, responding to complex customer inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner
* Respond to telephone calls, emails, and in-person inquiries from customers, providing accurate and helpful information
* Type letters, reports, forms, and correspondence using a personal computer
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and reports on a personal computer
* Perform data retrieval and entry into a software application
* Perform other clerical functions as needed, such as processing mail, filing, and scanning
* Collaborate with the Animal Services team to ensure that customer needs are met and exceeded
* Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance customer service skills and knowledge
**Essential Qualifications**
* Graduation from high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma
* One (1) year of experience in customer service duties involving frequent public contact
* Experience in the operation of a personal computer required
* Ability to type accurately on a personal computer
* Ability to communicate effectively with others in person, via telephone, in writing, and on-line
* Ability to read for comprehension
* Ability to learn the procedures and operations of the unit to which assigned
* Ability to maintain records and prepare reports
* Ability to meet and deal with people effectively
* Ability to use a personal computer and related software
**Preferred Qualifications**
* Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
* Experience in the animal services industry or a related field
* Knowledge of standard office methods and procedures
* Knowledge of business English, spelling, and arithmetic
* Knowledge of County departments, operations, and regulations
**Physical Skills**
* Ability to communicate effectively using verbal, written, and visual communication
**Education, Training, and Experience**
* Graduation from high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma
* One (1) year of experience in customer service duties involving frequent public contact
* Experience in the operation of a personal computer required
* Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
**Licenses, Certifications, or Registrations**
* Must possess a valid Florida driver's license
