**Responsibilities**
As a Medical Insurance Customer Service Advisor at blithequark, you'll be responsible for delivering exceptional customer experiences and ensuring that our patients receive the support they need to navigate the healthcare system. Your key responsibilities will include:
* Communicating with new patients to explain the billing process and answer any questions they may have
* Proactively reaching out to patients with billing policy changes to ensure they're aware of any updates or changes
* Addressing patient concerns in a timely and professional manner, either through initial calls or by escalating to a manager if necessary
* Conducting follow-up phone calls to patients as needed to recognize and resolve customer issues in a timely manner
* Serving as an initial and consistent point of contact for patients regarding financial assistance programs, including statements, insurance changes, and charges
* Managing, updating, and communicating all aspects of the Financial Assistance Program (FAP) to the appropriate department
* Communicating and obtaining any requested patient information changes for database maintenance and updates
* Inputting data into the company computer platform to keep each customer record updated
* Sharing knowledge gained with other staff members and working as a team to deliver exceptional customer experiences
* Interacting with others in a positive, respectful, and considerate manner, recognizing patients' rights and responsibilities and supporting them in the performance of job duties
* Respecting patients' rights to privacy and confidentiality and performing other job-related duties as assigned
**Qualifications**
To be successful in this role, you'll need to possess the following qualifications:
* A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) equivalent is required; some college preferred with collections, verification, and/or analysis experience; customer service call center experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
* Strong customer service acumen and effective verbal and listening communication skills
* Ability to make decisions, solve problems, and work independently
* Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy
* Basic computer proficiency and ability to quickly learn the use of Lynx and CPR+
* Knowledge in the use of Microsoft applications
