**Job Description**
As a Customer Service Representative / Call Center Representative – Community Outreach and Support, you will play a critical role in interacting with members of the community who find themselves at OATH and need information about how to proceed with summonses they have received. Your specific duties will include:
* Serving as the liaison between OATH and the community who seek to inquire about summonses, schedule hearings, and/or pay a fine.
* Responding to community inquiries and concerns.
* Ensuring that all members of the community appearing at OATH in-person or remotely through telephone or email understand the adjudication process.
* Investigating and attempting to resolve complaints from the public appearing before OATH.
* Ensuring that cases are processed in a timely manner to minimize wait time for the public.
* Review, confirm, and ensure accurate information is provided to members of the community who have been issued summonses, so they understand what they need to do.
* Assist in all aspects of processing cases efficiently when members of the public appear for hearings, so the public has timely access to justice.
**Hybrid Office / Remote Work Schedule Available**
After an initial training period, you will have the opportunity to work in a hybrid office/remote schedule, allowing you to balance your work and personal life while still delivering exceptional customer service to our community.
**Minimum Qualifications**
To be considered for this role, you must meet one of the following qualification requirements:
1. High school graduation or equivalent and three years of experience in community work or community-centered activities in an area related to duties described above; or
2. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" above.
**Preferred Skills**
While not required, the following skills are highly desirable:
* Proficiency in Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Adobe, with knowledge in Excel
* Office experience, as well as a demonstrable background dealing with members of the public
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* History of volunteerism, such as service in the AmericCorps or Peace Corps, is viewed favorably

**Residency Requirement**
New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County. To determine if the residency requirement applies to you, please discuss with the agency representative at the time of interview.
