Controller/Bookkeeper with experience in a D2C / E-Commerce

Our client, a leader in the pet care products industry, seeks an experienced Controller/Bookkeeper. You will play a crucial role in ensuring our client’s financial records are accurate and up to date. You will manage accounts payable and receivable, verify invoices, and ensure that our financial statements, particularly our Profit & Loss (P&L) reports, are correctly categorized. Your insights will help our client make informed business decisions and hold their team accountable to budgetary guidelines.

Key Responsibilities: • Verify and process invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely payments. • Keep payment records updated and monitor cash flow for operational efficiency. • Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) to ensure timely transactions. • Perform bookkeeping tasks to maintain accurate financial records. • Ensure P&L statements are accurate and categorized correctly for reporting. • Hold team members accountable for adhering to budgetary guidelines and financial objectives. • Provide insights and analysis on the company’s financial status to support strategic planning. • Collaborate with various teams to optimize financial performance and operational efficiency. • Stay updated on accounting best practices and regulatory requirements. • Build and maintain a 13-Week Cash Flow Model

Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. • Proven experience as a Controller or Bookkeeper, ideally in a Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) setting. • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices. • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Excel. • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail. • Strong organizational and time management abilities. • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
