Remote Physician Virtual Primary Care
About the position
Premise Health is seeking a Remote Primary Care physician to join their National Virtual Primary Care team. This role involves providing telemedicine services to client employees and their family members aged 2 and older, operating within a 24/7/365 national virtual service framework. The position requires flexibility in scheduling, with daytime hours and varying weekday schedules, including one weekend rotation per month. The physician will be responsible for recommending treatments and prescribing medications when appropriate, utilizing video and telephone consultations to deliver care. The scope of practice includes managing acute and episodic primary care, chronic condition management, collaborative physician duties, centralized activation, and injury care with necessary follow-ups. The physician will also be responsible for providing occupational health services, conducting medical consultations, and developing treatment plans in collaboration with members. This role requires maintaining accurate medical records using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and participating in regular Medical Staff activities, including meetings and training. In addition to providing high-quality medical care, the physician will be expected to meet or exceed patient satisfaction and connectivity service level agreements, ensuring compliance with Premise Health's standards. - Responsibilities
- Provide telemedicine services to client employees and family members ages 2 and older. ,
- Recommend treatment and prescribe medication over video and telephone. ,
- Manage acute, episodic, and chronic conditions as part of primary care. ,
- Conduct medical consultations, including diagnosing and treating patients via video or phone. ,
- Provide occupational health services, including injury care and follow-ups. ,
- Develop treatment plans in collaboration with members and educate them on medical issues. ,
- Provide referrals to appropriate medical resources or specialists as needed. ,
- Evaluate the effectiveness of medical care and monitor patient progress. ,
- Identify emergency situations and provide or direct care as appropriate. ,
- Maintain medical records using Electronic Medical Records (EMR). ,
- Participate in the development of annual program goals and objectives. ,
- Attend Medical Staff meetings and complete all required training. ,
- Meet or exceed quality and patient satisfaction standards.
- Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited medical school with MD or DO licensing. ,
- Current unencumbered license to practice medicine in good standing in at least one state in the U.S. ,
- Must be Board Certified in Occupational Medicine, Internal Medicine, Family Practice, Primary Care, or Emergency Medicine, or Board Eligible in these areas. ,
- At least three years of post-residency clinical experience, preferably in primary care, urgent care, or emergency room settings. ,
- Active, unrestricted DEA Certification in the state(s) licensed. ,
- Knowledge of Internet software, spreadsheet, and word processing software. ,
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records is preferred.
- Nice-to-haves
- Prior telehealth experience is preferred. ,
- Bilingual skills, particularly in Spanish, are a plus. ,
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety concepts and OSHA recordkeeping.
