Honesty, integrity and accountability are essential to our Partnership’s success.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for overseeing the timely filing and payments of sales/use tax returns and VAT returns
- Review sales/use tax returns prepared by outside consultants and approve journal entries to reflect the accrual and payment of sales tax,
- Responsible for overseeing international VAT compliance,
- Assist with the flow of sales tax/VAT information to third party service providers,
- Review of reconciliations of sales/use tax and VAT related account
- Use discretion to scrutinize accounting records for unusual/extraordinary transactions, investigate findings and provide resolution
- Responsible for ensuring that the company is registered for sales/use tax and VAT in the appropriate jurisdictions,
- Responsible for the collection and maintenance of certificates impacting the taxability of transactions
- Support tax team and internal/external customers regarding tax review of transactions, information requests, and issue resolution
- Participate in master data sales/use tax setup
- Responsible for interpreting sales/use tax and VAT laws and applying them to minimize the company’s tax liabilities
- Verify and maintain all necessary SOX documentation related to sales/use tax and VAT processes
- Assist with software implementations and ERP integrations
- Conduct or participate in trainings with other team members and/or other departments to insure proper tax accruals/payments
- Research tax issues and work on special projects as needed
- Assist as needed during examinations by auditors
- Maintain all compliance records in accordance with document retention policies
- Responsible for managing personnel including training, developing, and providing oversite to employees in accordance with the company and department's processes and procedures
- 8 years of tax experience which includes at least 8+ years in multi-state sales tax matters and 4+ years of international VAT experience,
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office is required
- Knowledge of SAP and Vertex is preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required
- Proficiency in analyzing and reconciling accounts and preparing journal entries
- Experience performing tax research using tax services such as RIA, CCH, etc.
- The Manager level requires a Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of relevant experience
- CPA or CMI candidate preferred.
- Usually, normal office working conditions.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
- Occasional overnight travel may be required.
- Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
