- Lead the architecture and technical direction of the Amgen Cloud Platform on AWS.
 - Define and enforce cloud-native architecture standards, patterns, and reusable components.
 - Build scalable, secure, and compliant landing zones using AWS Control Tower, Organizations, SCPs, IAM, etc.
 - Collaborate across security, data, DevOps, and application teams to design integrated solutions.
 - Drive adoption of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or AWS CDK.
 - Evaluate and introduce emerging AWS services and architectural innovations into the platform.
 - Provide architecture governance, design reviews, and mentorship to engineers and junior architects.
 - Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in cloud-native deployments and enterprise integrations.
 - Contribute to Amgen’s cloud roadmap, reference architectures, and architectural principles.
 
- 14+ years of experience in IT with 8+ years of AWS architecture and engineering.
 - Demonstrated expertise in designing enterprise-scale platforms on AWS (multi-account, multi-region, secure).
 - Solid command of core AWS services: EC2, S3, Lambda, ECS/EKS, VPC, IAM, KMS, CloudFormation/Terraform, Control Tower, Config, GuardDuty, etc.
 - Deep knowledge of networking, security, and identity in AWS (VPC peering, PrivateLink, Transit Gateway, SCPs, IAM Roles & Policies).
 - Strong hands-on expertise in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or AWS CDK preferred).
 - Experience with CI/CD pipelines, preferably using GitLab, or similar.
 - Demonstrated ability to lead architectural design sessions, influence technical direction, and mentor teams.
 - Solid understanding of compliance and security standards (e.g., HIPAA, GxP, NIST, CIS Benchmarks).
 - Experience leading Well-Architected Reviews and aligning designs with AWS standard methodologies.
 - Good communication and collaborator engagement skills.
 
- AWS Certified: Solutions Architect – Professional, or other specialty certifications.
 - Experience with Kubernetes (EKS), serverless patterns, and event-driven architectures.
 - Familiarity with multi-cloud architecture, though AWS is primary.
 - Experience working in regulated industries, particularly biotech or pharma.
 - Familiarity with FinOps, tagging strategies, and cost optimization in AWS.
 - Exposure to data platforms on AWS (e.g., Lake Formation, Glue, Redshift).
 - Knowledge of ServiceNow, HashiCorp Vault, or Splunk in cloud ecosystems.
