As we continue to expand across Nassau and Suffolk Counties, we are seeking a positive, friendly, and hardworking full-time Medical Assistant to join our team.Position Overview:We are looking for a motivated Medical Assistant to become an essential part of our team. In this role, you will perform both administrative and clinical tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our medical facility. This includes patient interaction, managing patient records, and assisting medical providers.Key Responsibilities:Greet patients and provide necessary paperwork for completionInterview patients and document medical historiesPrepare patient records in advance of visits by ensuring required radiology/lab results are entered into the medical record for doctor reviewOrganize and schedule appointments efficientlyUpdate insurance information and patient demographics, including verifying insuranceEnsure knowledge of medical terminology for accurate documentationHandle authorizations for medications and radiology servicesPrepare disability forms and other required paperworkProduce and distribute correspondence, memos, faxes, and formsAssist with busy phone lines and patient inquiriesPrepare and maintain clean medical roomsScan documents into patient chartsAssist providers with preparing and administering injectionsNote: No phlebotomy or EKG setup required for this positionQualifications:Prior experience in a medical assistant role or similar healthcare environment preferredKnowledge of medical terminology requiredExperience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and scanning programs; comfortable using Apple iPadsExcellent organizational and multi-tasking skills with strong attention to detailAbility to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environmentMust have reliable transportation; travel between Ronkonkoma and Garden City offices 1-2 times a weekAbility to work collaboratively as an efficient team memberExperience handling high patient volumes and busy clinical schedulesWilling to be trained on our cloud-based EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systemBilingual (Spanish) skills preferred but not requiredPhysical Requirements:Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periodsFrequent use of medical equipment and office devicesJob Details:Hours: Full-time position, exact schedule may vary (30-39 hours/week)Remote Work: Not availableBenefits: Eligibility for benefits after a waiting period (specific benefits may apply)Our Workplace Culture:Detail-Oriented: We prioritize quality and accuracyOutcome-Driven: We value high performance and resultsPeople-Centered: We maintain a supportive, fairness-driven environmentTeam-Oriented: We work collaboratively to achieve the best outcomes for our patientsPowered by JazzHR
