Job Description:Aerovel (The Airbus Helicopters Flexrotor Program) is looking for a Sr Propulsion Technician to join our Manufacturing Operations team in Bingen, WA.In this role, you will assemble, test and qualify Flexrotor engine and related components.Meet the Team:The Airbus Helicopters Flexrotor Program offers one of the most advanced small tactical unmanned aerial systems (STUAS) with vertical take-off and landing (VTOL). Propulsion and Testing: 80%Assemble and test production engines, fuel tanks, and ignition systems.Assemble, test and calibrate production rotor systems and related components.Perform propulsion systems development, fabrication, and assembly.Troubleshoot failure modes and provide photo documentation and feedback to engineeringOperate manual machine tools, rill, lathe, mill, dyno etc.Align, fit or assemble propulsion system component parts, using hand or power tools and fixtures2. Documentation: 15%Maintain part inventory and order replacement inventory as neededReview of documentations including drawing, schematics, and Bill of materials3. Quality and Process Improvement: 5%Assisting with manufacturing/ production / quality process improvementDevelop work instructions, test procedures and quality documentationAdditional Responsibilities: 5%Other duties as assigned:Maintain shop cleanlinessAdhere to tool control and safety protocolsYour Boarding Pass:Required:High school diploma or equivalencyMinimum of six (6) years of experience working in an aerospace, production, mechanical, military, or manufacturing environmentExperience designing test setups related to mechanical systemsEligible for employment in the US, Options: none, US Person under ITAR definition (U.S. Citizen, green card holder or person covered under our existing ITAR licenseFundamental understanding of electro-mechanical systems, such as engine test stands or dynamometersExperience with data acquisition systemsFundamental understanding of two stroke engines and fuel systemsExperience with tools and equipment related to enginesDemonstrated track record of assuming ownership over development processes and features and delivering outstanding outcomesTrack record of successfully shipping products, showcasing the ability to navigate through development cycles, overcome obstacles, and deliver high-quality solutions to meet project deadlines and exceed client expectations in a fast-paced environmentAbility to communicate effectively in verbal and written form in EnglishPreferred:Trade SchoolAviation production and manufacturing experienceFAA A&P, ASE or equivalent mechanical certificationPhysical Requirements:Onsite or remote: 100% onsite Bingen WashingtonVision: able to see and read computer screens and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings daily.Hearing: able to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on the production floor including safety warnings or alarms daily.Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications daily.Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts daily.Carrying: able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs daily.Lifting: able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs daily.Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools daily.Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on the computer daily.Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving.Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on the production floor daily.Travel: able to travel independently and with short notice.Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces daily.Personal Protective Equipment required: Required PPE includes, but is not limited to, Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Respirators/Masks, and/or Protective Gloves as required by site and/or customer siteAdministrative position only PPE required: Steel-toed shoes are required for all shop floor visits, appropriate hearing/eye protection may also be required when visiting the shop floor.This role requires US Person Status under ITAR definition (U.S. Citizen, green card holder or person covered under our existing ITAR license).Pay Range:Hourly pay range based on the required profile: $31 - 45/hour. Actual minimum and maximum may vary based on geographic differential. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
